Who we are
ADFEC Inc. is an association of individual Business Development Service Providers engaged in the promotion and development of micro, small and medium enterprises in the Philippines.
The association was originally established in 1996, composed of service providers who were equipped by the GTZ in the experiential learning methodology “Competency Based Economies through the Formation of Entrepreneurs (CEFE)” – an internationally known approach in entrepreneurship and enterprise development. Eventually, the members were also equipped in other GTZ (now renamed to GIZ) tools which widened the network’s product and service offerings to the SME sector; this made its former name too restrictive and the members voted to change the name in March 2016.
The role of ADFEC is that of a facilitator of business development services, such as the conduct of Local Regional Economic Development (LRED) programs, Value Chain Analysis (VCA), Compass activities, CEFE training programs and business counseling. Its members provide these services to MSMEs, in farming communities, to Local Government Units (LGUs), NGAs (DTI, DOLE, DAR, DA, DSWD), other NGOs, academic and financial institutions as well as donor agencies.
ADFEC members include trainers, managers and development specialists with international track records in working with donor and partner organizations such as GIZ, ADB, ILO, CIDA, UN-ITC, UNDP, IOM, ICRC, Plan International and other INGOs.
